This month's call is focusing on farm to school celebrations and community events.
Are you hosting a harvest festival, farm to school celebration, or other community event this year? Or are you thinking about starting one?
We’d love to bring people together for a casual peer-to-peer conversation about the role, work, and importance of celebrations in farm to school efforts. These events can be a fun way to bring a community together, but they can also serve a larger purpose—building relationships, connecting families to local farms and food, celebrating student learning, and creating visibility for farm to school work.
We’ll gather virtually to share what people are doing, what’s working, what’s challenging, and what role these kinds of events can play in building a stronger farm to school program. Whether you have been hosting an event for years or are just wondering what one could look like, we’d love to have you join the conversation.

Special invitation, October 8, 12–2:00PM: Newbury Elementary School has been hosting a community Farm and Field Day for almost a decade. This year, they are opening the event to a small number of teachers, community organizations, and others who are interested in observing and learning from their model.
The event is already at capacity for students, but the Newbury team would love to welcome adults who are considering creating or strengthening a celebration of their own. It’s a chance to see how they organize the day, engage their community, and connect the event to their broader farm to school work.

Note: You do not have to attend the Newbury Farm and Field Day to participate in the peer-to-peer discussion on 10/21.
