Who We Are

We're a statewide Network providing leadership, coordination, and advocacy to advance new and existing farm to school efforts in Vermont classrooms, cafeterias, and communities. We're farm to school advocates, practitioners, and educators across the state.

Our Vision

Every Vermont child and educational community is engaged in a local food and farm culture that nourishes children’s bodies and minds, cultivates viable farms, and builds vibrant communities.

Our Goal

By 2030, every educational community in Vermont connects classrooms, cafeterias, and communities with equitable access to integrated food system education, community-based learning, and 30% local food purchasing that promotes climate resilience and social justice.

Our Strategy

As determined by our strategic plan, we operate in action teams to work towards the collective Network goal. These six action teams represent different leverage points that have the potential to radically change farm to school and early childhood:

  • Ease of Use
  • Research & Evaluation
  • Demonstrating the Educational Value of Farm to School
  • Local Purchasing
  • Policy & Demand
  • Farm to Early Childhood
