In 2015, the Vermont Farm to School Network’s Economic Value Working Team partnered with the Center for Rural Studies (CRS) and the Department of Community Development and Applied Economics at the University of Vermont to measure the economic contribution and impacts of farm to school in Vermont. Previous to this study, the dollar value of local food purchased by Vermont schools had never been quantified. Please contact Ali Zipparo at the Vermont Agency of Agriculture for more information.
